My lathe was built by my grandpa, KP Bower, out of a Maytag clothes press and washing machine. It has a swing of 16" and 47" between centers, varible speed control using the spin cycle buttons and dial as well as belt/pully changing.
I refurbished the lathe during the summer of 2007 and named it the "Heritage Maytag" Here are a few details
1. Raising the lathe about 6" (grandpa was shorter than me) see it here 1. Raising the lathe 1. Raising the lathe-finished
2. New bearings Sorry no pics of this
3. New paint see it here Some new paint!, More new paint and Painting done!!
