I still haven't got the 1HP motor looked at or working correctly, maybe this week. I was able to curb my jitters from lack of spinning wood by hooking up a small 1/4HP motor to my new jack shaft setup. The jack shaft will need some tweeking, but it works just fine right now. I was able to get the lowest speed down to about 345RPM, half of the old low speed! With the 4 step pullies I have speeds of roughly 345, 430, 575 and 860. If I add two more step pulleys I would give myself 4 more higher speeds, but I don't think it will be necessary. Below are some pics of the set up.
